"Jacko - Next Up" @MixtapeMadness

Jacko is a “next up” and coming drill rapper from East London.  As part of his “Next Up?” for Mixtape Madness he goes in and hard on two different beats. The first is produced by Walkz starting off almost like a tormenting tune as he details his current life state. The following beat, produced by Likkledotz OTB, sounds like a more heart felt drill beat as he tells his story more in depth about his past.  With each project, whether a single or freestyle, he seems to be dipping further into the music scene, whilst giving us more insight into his life.

"I haven't been home in time. I haven't seen bro in time, but we speak most days, so he knows I'm fine"

Jacko seems to be a familial guy, but not a Griffin, that keeps close relationships with others, his bro, at least. Staying up to date despite the distance shows there are no bounds to his love, and he enjoys regular communication… Maybe it keeps him grounded? Maybe it just keeps his line active? But clearly, it is to keep a connection. Is this Love?

"I'm the youth that no one likes 'cos I've robbed 'nuff man, it's no surprise..."

Jacko is not shy with his downfalls throughout his bars and is incredibly open about the things he has done in the past, like robbing others. He is an honest person, at least with himself, as he understands why he may not be liked taking it as “no surprise”.

"...but I've done this shit on  my own, what can you say? It's only right."

A true entrepreneur, he proves his skill, persistence and hard work pays off seeing it as “only right” when he does “this shit”. This suggests that anything he applies himself to, is possible and with his capabilities been proven he shall only continue to progress further with time, if he works towards something.

"My Rambo holds me tight, it holds me tight and I hold it tight. I know that it's got my back 'cah I know that it's on my side"

Rambo is a less common name, but after listening to this I know I am looking for one, as his Rambo at least has proven their unwavering loyalty to him. Jacko describes their relationship as a close one, like with bro but different, as Rambo is forever present by his side. A trustee for his back, there for him when he may need guarding for safety. Jacko has found a friend in Rambo, with love for one and other at the core, as they hold each other “’tight”.

"I really wanna give him a smack but he's giving me P's so I won't do that"

At this age, Jacko seems to be as bright as his future is by having learnt the importance of composure and not letting his wants gets the best of him, especially if violent. Despite wanting to “smack” someone, he thinks first and refrains from doing so as he knows what he is being offered is worth much more and one “smack” could ruin the giving part of their relationship. “P’s” are important to help him function in his day to day life, as “P’s” is money, an enormous number of pence.

"Line ringing non-stop cos my lines top notch"

Being “top notch” involves providing consistent quality service to ensure a line is ringing “non-stop”. Jacko has proven to harness all these skills and applied them to guarantee his line rings, once again proving his capabilities, that are limitless.

Jacko has proven his character again, through his music, by showcasing himself as an honest, organic, comedic person. He has endured his trials and learnt from his mistakes, as well as acknowledged how necessary they are to improving his outlook and making the appropriate change on his lifestyle, with his decision-making being for the long term. As part of his growth he has turned to music and been closely affiliated with ProdbyWalkz, a popular drill producer and “content creator”. He is one to watch and I am sure there is a lot of babes with their eyes on him… I infamously heard they call him “Papi”.
